We're changing Elaine's guide from the original print edition (you can browse some pages here). Many of you asked for an online version, and we're working to put it together!

During this time, we have lots of stuff to work out. Things will be a little unstable and possibly in need of a facelift. Please try it, submit comments, and be patient if the site is down.

We're trying to figure out:

• What my friends want in a restaurant guide.
• How people like to browse and search for restaurants.
• Is the information too sparse, too cluttered, or just right?
