Berkeley Thai House (Thai)
East Bay: Berkeley

I can’t believe I never tried Indian food until after I left college, but I did have my first pad thai here during freshman year. The décor is better than most Thai places, and my favorites are the pad thai and the garlic pepper pork.

Cuisine: Thai
Price: Entrées are $5-10.
Dress: Casual and up. The faded 501s and shorts are OK.
Noise: Not a problem.
Reservations: Recommended. You can probably just walk in on weekdays.
Payment: Cash and credit cards.
Parking: Street parking so close to campus is challenging, but there are a few paid lots nearby. Otherwise, try circling for 5-10 minutes or parking further away, then walking.
Date place? Yes, but you’ll probably see a lot of undergrad couples there.
