I recommend this café more for the atmosphere than for the food. You’ll feel like you’re in Eastern Europe. Go with staples like goulash and hearty chicken soup. Or, just grab a coffee (this really is a café, not an expensive restaurant that calls itself a café). Gourmet sandwiches are also available. Be sure to check the hours of opening in advance. There have been a few times I expected it to be open and it wasn’t.
Not a problem. Not very many people know about this place, as it’s on the border of North Beach on a quiet street.
Reservations:
None taken and none required.
Payment:
Cash only.
Parking:
Café Prague is on the edge of North Beach, so parking is hit or miss. Allow 5-10 extra minutes to find parking, or park in one of the paid lots nearby. Or, take one of the Columbus buses and walk.
Date place?
Sure, if you’re already in North Beach and want to get away from the tourists and/or cliché Italian food.
