Charanga (Mexican)
San Francisco: Mission

If you can’t get into Cha Cha Cha next door, this is a good alternative. Actually, I would come here even if I could get into Cha Cha Cha. I like the grilled shrimp, but it’s messy since it’s served in the shell. Still, it was a great deal. I got heaps of shrimp for just $14. I thought it would never end.

Cuisine: Mexican
Price: Entrees are $10-20.
Dress: Casual and up. The faded 501s and shorts are OK.
Noise: It’s pretty noisy, since the restaurant is small and crowded. You’ll have to raise your voice.
Reservations: Recommended.
Payment: Cash and credit cards.
Parking: Parking in the Mission is a nightmare at almost any time of the day. However, there are a few paid lots nearby. Alternatively, take BART or a Mission or Valencia bus.
Date place? Sure.
