Cordon Bleu (Vietnamese)
San Francisco: Nob Hill

This little hole-in-the-wall has only a few seats, mostly at the counter. And it has only a few food options, most of which are packaged into combination plates. The plates include an imperial roll, rice, salad, and marinated slices of beef. My favorite plate is the five-spice chicken. I’m not sure which five spices those are exactly, but the chicken is both moist and flavorful.

Cuisine: Vietnamese
Price: Plates are $5-10.
Dress: Casual. The faded 501s and shorts are OK.
Noise: There aren’t enough seats for it to get too loud.
Reservations: None taken and none needed.
Payment: Cash only.
Parking: Street parking is difficult, so I would just take either a Polk or Van Ness bus or the California line cable car.
Date place? I wouldn’t. This is more of a place to grab a quick bite after work before heading home.
