Gambardella's (Italian )
Peninsula: Menlo Park
The pastas are good here but the real reason I go to Gambardella’s is the sun dried tomato spread with garlic and walnuts. I cannot stop eating it with the focaccia. That alone could be my whole dinner. Until that becomes socially acceptable, I’ll also get the roasted chicken pasta with sun dried tomatoes and olive oil.
Cuisine: Italian
Price: Entrees are $10-20.
Dress: Chic casual and up. Sevens and Diesels are OK, faded 501s and shorts aren’t.
Noise: You might have to raise your voice on busy days but normally it’s not a problem.
Reservations: Recommended. (OpenTable )
Payment: Cash and credit cards.
Parking: Plenty of parking out back or on the side streets.
Date place? Sure, but you might want to curb your consumption of the spread since it contains so much garlic. Then again, that’s the whole point in coming here.
