This is my favorite sushi place in the city. Many are either squarely in the Hamano camp or the Ebisu (Sunset) camp, but I like them both. Still, because I used to live in Noe, this one wins as my favorite. Like many Japanese restaurants, the décor is plain. However, the sushi is always fresh and the slices of fish are generous. You can either eat at the sushi bar or in the dining room. I prefer the sushi bar.
Not a problem and tables are spread out fairly well.
Reservations:
Recommended, but usually not a problem on weekdays. Weekends are a different story.
Payment:
Cash and credit cards.
Parking:
Parking is not great but not impossible. Allow 5-10 minutes extra to find parking. Otherwise, Hamano is right off of 24th, where several bus lines converge.
Date place?
It’s not fun or romantic, but it’s not embarrassing. And, it is known as one of the best places to get sushi in SF.
