Hometown Noodle (Vietnamese / Noodles)
Peninsula: Redwood City

Don't let the location in a somewhat sketchy neighborhood prevent you from going to Hometown Noodle. I grew up eating pho and the ones served here are among the best I've had. The beef broth is the key. Most other pho joints serve pho in weak, watery broth. Not here. The broth is deep and flavorful. My favorite is the pho with flank steak and brisket. The fried imperial rolls are also great.

Cuisine: Vietnamese / Noodles
Price: Entrees are $5-10.
Dress: Casual. The faded 501s and shorts are OK.
Noise: Not a problem.
Reservations: Taken but usually none needed.
Payment: Cash and credit cards.
Parking: Street parking is easy.
Date place? Not really. This is a hole-in-the-wall. A clean hole-in-the-wall with good service, but still a hole-in-the-wall.
