Ici is a gelato shop opened by a Chez Panisse alum. The flavors are unique (e.g., honey lavender, coffee cardamom, etc.) and change daily. The best way I can describe the ice cream is "refreshing". Little surprise given that it's hand-crafted on the premises from organic ingredients daily.
If you are calorie counting and can only get one thing, get an ice cream sandwich. It'll be worth the calories and then some.
1 scoop for $2.75, 2 scoops for $3.75, ice cream sandwiches for $4.25, bombes for ~$16 (feeds 3-4).
Dress:
Casual. The faded 501s and shorts are OK.
Noise:
Not relevant. Most people take their ice cream to go.
Reservations:
Not relevant.
Payment:
Cash only.
Parking:
Parking in Elmwood can be challenging on the weekends. Try the side streets and you should be able to find something within 5 minutes.
Date place?
Yes. This is the cutest (and cleanest) little ice cream shop you'll find anywhere! However, there are only 2-3 seats in the shop itself, so take it to go and stroll down College Avenue.
