Indian Oven (Indian / Vegetarian-Friendly)
San Francisco: Lower Haight

Ben’s boss, Paul, used to live on the block over. He’s a vegetarian and lover of Indian food and would come here 4-5 times a week. The food is certainly good and the restaurant is housed in an old Victorian, so the atmosphere is nicer than most other Indian places in the city (but that's reflected in the prices).

Cuisine: Indian / Vegetarian-Friendly
Price: Entrees are $10-20.
Dress: Casual and up. The faded 501s and shorts are OK.
Noise: Usually not a problem.
Reservations: Recommended.
Payment: Cash and credit cards.
Parking: Parking in this area is not easy, but it’s not impossible. If you must drive, allow an extra 10-15 minutes to find parking. I would just take public transit, though. Most of the MUNI streetcars stop only two blocks from the restaurant.
Date place? Yes, if your date likes Indian food.
