Jardiniere (American / California Cuisine)
San Francisco: Hayes Valley

This is a great (and probably the most expensive) pre- and post-symphony/opera option. Traci des Jardins is a local celebrity chef and she also owns Acme next to Pac Bell Park. The food is upscale American and excellent. The restaurant has two stories and the atmosphere is New York. On weekends, there is definitely a buzzing bar scene.

Cuisine: American / California Cuisine
Price: Entrees are $15-35.
Dress: Business casual and up. Don’t wear jeans, even if they are of the $150 variety.
Noise: It can get pretty loud in here. You’ll definitely have to raise your voice. Also, the closer you are seated to the bar, the higher your voice will have to go.
Reservations: Highly recommended. (OpenTable)
Payment: Cash and credit cards.
Parking: Just valet it. It’s that kind of a place.
Date place? Definitely. However, keep the noise level in mind.
