Jasmine Tea House (Chinese)
San Francisco: Mission

You wouldn’t think that there’d be great Chinese food in the Mission, but even President Clinton has eaten here. My favorites are the stir-fried eel and the black pepper ostrich. If you live in the Mission, Bernal Heights, or Noe, you can also get it delivered. Plus, for takeout orders of at least three dishes, they throw in a full-sized dish of fried rice or chow mein for free.

Cuisine: Chinese
Price: Entrees are $5-10.
Dress: Casual. The faded 501s and shorts are OK.
Noise: Not a problem.
Reservations: Normally none needed.
Payment: Cash and credit cards.
Parking: Parking here is challenging but not impossible. Allow 10-15 minutes extra to find it. However, most Mission and Valencia buses stop right in front of the restaurant. Just bus it.
Date place? Not really. Go with friends or family.
