Mama's on Washington Square (Brunch / American)
San Francisco: North Beach

This is one of the best places for brunch in the city, and unfortunately, everyone else knows that, too. Why is it that most brunch places have long waits? To avoid the wait, go early on a weekday before work. Get anything on the menu…it’s all good.

Cuisine: Brunch / American
Price: Dishes are $10-15.
Dress: Casual. The faded 501s and shorts are OK.
Noise: Not a problem. You’ll be so happy to have finally landed a table that you won’t care about talking…you’ll be eating.
Reservations: None taken.
Payment: Cash only.
Parking: Street parking in North Beach is terrible, but there are tons of paid lots around. I like the official city lots the best because they are less expensive and are near the police station.
Date place? Despite the potential for a long wait, I’m going to say yes on this one. You can always wait in Washington Square, which is just across the street.
