Osha Thai Noodle Cafe (Thai / Noodles)
San Francisco: Tenderloin

We’re talking about the original Osha, not the chi-chi branches in SOMA and the Mission. In the original, the décor is bad (e.g., ripped vinyl booths, stained carpets, etc.) but the food is outstanding. My Thai friend only comes here for her native food. Have the stir fried silver noodles with veggies and meat for dinner and the mango with sticky rice for dessert.

Cuisine: Thai / Noodles
Price: Entrees are $5-10.
Dress: Casual. The faded 501s and shorts are OK.
Noise: Not a problem.
Reservations: None taken. If you do need to wait, it won’t be more than 5 minutes, since the turnover is quite high.
Payment: Cash and credit cards.
Parking: Street parking is almost impossible during the day but there are paid lots nearby. You’re better off taking the 38 bus.
Date place? It’s a dive. Not a sketchy dive, but still a dive…
