I think that the best Chinese food is actually outside of Chinatown, but despite its name, this is one of the exceptions. R&G Lounge is known for their crab preparations. My favorite is the ginger and scallion one that’s slightly deep fried (most of the batter is on the shell, not the meat). Be prepared for some brusque service. I’ve never had problems, but I’ve always gone with my grandma, who could stick it to anyone.
Entrees are $10-20, but they also offer a ton of set menus for the entire table.

Street parking is virtually impossible, but the Jackson Square garage is one block away.
Date place?
If you’re willing to chance it with brusque service if you’re not a Cantonese speaker, OK. But the main point is to come here to eat the crab, which might make for a messy date. This is a better place for family-style eating.
