This is one of the few places in North Beach that isn’t completely overrun with tourists and overcooked pasta. Appetizers are more sophisticated than your typical fried calamari and include marinated olives and carpaccios. The pastas are all handmade and go beyond the thick garlicky red sauces found at most other North Beach Italian places. My favorite is a wood oven cracker thin pizza, though. If you like truffle oil, do not pass up the pizza with chanterelles, pancetta, and truffle oil.
Parking in North Beach is terrible, but there are tons of paid lots around. I like the official city lots the best because they are less expensive and are very near the police station.
